Il gruppo è composto da 9 volontari di cui 2 alla loro prima esperienza a Gerusalemme. Riportiamo una testimonianza del capogruppo e del gruppo

Carissimi amici, riflettendo sui giorni trascorsi in Terra Santa, la prima cosa che mi viene in mente è una profonda gratitudine per tutto quello che il Signore mi ha concesso di vivere. La bellissima esperienza vissuta è stata possibile anche grazie agli amici vecchi e nuovi con cui ho condiviso questi giorni. Il desiderio di tutti di fare una esperienza ricca di significato e umana, per la quale eravamo lì in quel luogo, ha permesso di essere Chiesa (come ha detto Vittorio). E’ stato evidente fin dal primo momento l’unità creatasi, la carità, la disponibilità a stare alla realtà, a quello che ci veniva chiesto senza mai discutere o contestare, anche se a volte si facevano e rifacevano lavori che ai nostri occhi potevano sembrare inadeguati o superflui. Questo sempre con il sorriso sulle labbra. E’ stata una bella testimonianza di unità e condivisione che non è passata inosservata agli occhi di chi ci ha incontrato. Quello che ci siamo detti il primo giorno lo abbiamo visto realizzato per tutti i quattordici giorni. La rottura del pulmino alla vigilia del primo weekend, i cambi di programma non hanno mai fatto problema.
Il turno è anche stato caratterizzato dal fatto che la maggioranza dei frati, dalla preparazione fino alla conclusione, sono stati impegnati con il “Capitolo”, di conseguenza abbiamo potuto invitare a cena solamente Padre Stephane e Padre Alliata. Comunque abbiamo incontrato sempre a cena le nove suore presenti a M. Bambina, le memores Claudia, Marta e Bernard, memores tedesco in questo periodo a Gerusalemme, Ettore, Mattia, Lapo e Alberto, questi ultimi due volontari in questo periodo. Purtroppo è venuto a mancare l’incontro con il Vescovo P.B. Pizzaballa a causa di un impegno imprevisto.
Abbiamo anche trascorso una bellissima serata a Betlemme con i nostri amici con una tavolata Italo/Palestinese; a Nazaret abbiamo incontrato le Clarisse e dormito dalle Suore dell’ospedale e domenica a pranzo dalle Suore delle Beatitudini, abbiamo anche incontrato il nostro carissimo amico Nader, due ore molto belle.
I lavori principalmente sono stati fatti per consentire l’apertura di parte della Guest House di Mamilla, perchè due giorni dopo la nostra partenza sarebbero arrivati venti ragazzi Inglesi. Gli altri spazi nei giorni sono stati impiegati con la pulizia di candelabri e in particolare la pulizia del grande quadro d’argento rappresentante L’Annunciazione in rilievo, presente nella cappella del Santissimo dentro il S. Sepolcro a cui abbiamo partecipato tutti dopo la chiusura, dalle nove a mezzanotte, alternando lavoro e preghiera. Non potevano mancare due giorni dalle Clarisse di Gerusalemme.
Ringrazio ancora il Signore per quanto ci ha dato da vivere

Il 5 turno e’ finito, siamo a casa da un paio di giorni. Cosa ci portiamo a
casa?
La nostra riflessione parte da questa domanda. Sono stati 15 giorni di
Grazia. Quando diciamo Grazia si intende che il Signore ci ha sommerso di
carità e tenerezza. Come voi tutti sapete e condividete, i nostri turni
sono composti da persone che hanno alle spalle una buona parte di vita
vissuta con gioie e dolori, ci accomuna l’età non più giovane, esperienze
di cose vissute, figli , nipoti, un lavoro di anni( spesso siamo già in
pensione) che ognuno a svolto differentemente a seconda della propria
professione. Nel 5 turno, come forse per gli altri turni, non ci
conoscevamo e tutto questo non è stato di ostacolo per la nostra
compagnia, avevamo già chiaro fin dall’inizio che dovevamo essere docili
strumenti nelle Sue mani.
La fatica certo non è mancata sia dal lato fisico, ( non siamo delle verze
di oggi) che sul piano della comprensione di quello che c’era da fare, in
quanto avremmo voluto svolgere il lavoro secondo modalità a noi più
congeniali. Stare , infatti, a disposizione di un Altro significa essere
umili e fare spazio scansando le nostre opinioni .
Non nascondiamo che ci ha fatto benissimo al cuore tutto questo perché
quando l’età avanza non c’è più l’intemperanza, ma la resistenza.
Le nostre giornate partivano dalla messa al Santo Sepolcro oppure a San
Salvatore dai custodi della terra santa e con l’Angelus tutti insieme e
poi il lavoro, il pranzo, la cena con ospiti il più delle volte, allora
si cucinava cercando di dare il meglio di noi stessi, si sparecchiava e si
metteva in ordine. La cosa più sorprendente che possiamo dire e’ che ci
sembrava di essere ‘’soldati di Cristo’’. Questo termine ora non più
usato , ma quando eravamo bambini ci veniva detto alla Cresima dal
Vescovo .
Il nostro lavoro in se stesso , potrebbe essere inutile , qualcun altro lo
poteva fare, ma ci permetteva di unirci alla Santa Terra e alle persone
che l’abitano. Il nostro desiderio, realizzato, stava proprio nel vivere i
rapporti fra noi e con loro e il tempo libero, dal lavoro, serviva per
questo , per ripercorrere tappa dopo tappa il cammino di Gesù.
Per concludere siamo andati a Gerusalemme non per toccare delle pietre o
fare opere buone, ma per vivere una esperienza di Chiesa, corpo Mistico
del Cristo Risorto .
Non si esaurisce con il ritorno, ma continua nella normalità della nostra
quotidianità .
Gratitudine per tutto ciò che Lui ci ha donato . Siamo ancora una volta
educati a essere umili di cuore stando a ciò che c’è con mille imprevisti,
ma con il cuore lieto.
