Carissimo Zizzo, rispondo al tuo invito in ritardo, ma ho dovuto lasciare passare un po’ di tempo
Per trattenere lo sguardo di Gesù all opera ,nella mia esperienza nel 4^ turno.
È stato un percorso per me decisivo come verifica della fede, che si gioca nella circostanza data e di come si manifesta e di come la tensione di appartenere a Lui viene colta nella risposta della mia libertà.
La difficoltà è sempre far posto a Lui, lasciando non senza resistenza l io istintivo che fatica ad aderire a ciò che accadeva e come accadeva .
Continuamente a ricominciare come esercizio di ripresa affettiva e di umiltà.
L’essere in quella Terra dura ma benedetta e Santa aiuta e rende docile l animo che si affida.
Ciò ha determinato il mio cambiamento colto in atto , sono state delle circostanze di esperienza vissuta
Nella quotidianità di quei 15 giorni ….
La LITURGIA e la PREGHIERA quotidiana e intensa come Dono Dato a cui domandare ed abbandonarsi.
Gli INCONTRI fatti, tutte testimonianze che comunicano un vivere cristiano autentico e missionario, da Ettore, Vincenzo, Padre Stefan, Padre Diego, Padre Jerome, Fra Marco, Nader, la famiglia di Nabib, le sorelle Clarisse di Gerusalemme e di Nazaret, al Vescovo Pizzaballa, al Vicario e al Custode Patton.
Al confessore missionario che vive in Bangladesh e passa le sue vacanze a confessare a Nazareth, a padre George di Barcellona incontrato in cucina a Maria Bambina e alle sorelle di Maria Bambina .
La NOSTRA AMICIZIA che sorprendentemente è un pezzo di Chiesa vissuta , inaspettatamente con tutte le fragilità ed i limiti di ciascuno, ma circondati di un amore reciproco.
I LUOGHI SANTI DI GESÙ, sempre nuovi ed evocativi.
FRIZZI FINALI che con ilarità dicono di un’ attenzione e reciprocità di convivenza non scontata.
……. e le partite a carte.
La GRATITUDINE per questa rinnovata opportunità di lavoro caritativo vissuta come dono fatto a me e
come dono di me per come ne sono stata capace.

nel viaggio di lavoro in Terrasanta.
Ora, appena ritornato dal quarto turno, riconosco che le mie aspettative sono state ampiamente superate, da tutti i punti di vista.
In primo luogo, veramente bella è la familiarità dimostrata dai frati e dalle suore con le persone che da più tempo si recano là. La stima e la cordialità che i francescani e le clarisse hanno manifestato nei confronti di Zizzo, Pietro Paolo e gli altri ha reso possibile da subito una familiarità anche da parte mia con gli altri componenti del gruppo, alcuni dei quali prima di partire conoscevo solo un po’ (Piero, Anna, Silvano, Gianni) o per niente (Giuseppe, Giancarlo e Pietro Paolo).
Altro aspetto di rilievo è che tutto si è svolto all’insegna di una grande semplicità e sobrietà, a partire dai lavori fatti: tagliare l’erba e poi bruciarla, imbiancare, installare delle tende di copertura, sistemare alcune cose in un asilo e così via.
Di grande aiuto è stata l’Anna, che si è sacrificata in cucina garantendo tutti i giorni eccellenti pranzi e cene, sia “ in loco” (a Maria Bambina e a Nazareth) sia in “trasferta” (dalle Clarisse a Gerusalemme e al Monte Tabor durante il viaggio di ritorno da Nazareth a Gerusalemme).
Tante cose mi hanno colpito:
– l’attenzione nei miei confronti. Ad esempio di Zizzo che, al primo “incontro”, avvenuto con la superiora delle Clarisse di Gerusalemme, le ha parlato dei “bisogni” che abbiamo portato lì e per prima cosa le ha fatto presente la situazione della mia nipotina Maria Teresa.
– gli incontri fatti. Ricordo quelli con:
• Padre Stephane (molto lucido nella lettura delle varie questioni e grande stima per i componenti della Gelmini e per il lavoro svolto);
• Vincenzo Bellomo (importante lavoro per far si che i cristiani, le “pietre vive”, rimangano lì);
• Padre Diego (tutti folgorati da quello che ci ha detto e da come lo ha fatto);
• Suor Maria Felipa di Nazareth (fenomenale cordialità messicana);
• Nader (medico nazaretano che ha studiato in Italia e che ci ha spiegato un po’ della complessità che caratterizza la vita dei cristiani in Terrasanta);
• soprattutto, quello con Mons. Pizzaballa, che era proprio “a casa sua”, tra amici, apprezzando l’ottima cena preparata, rispondendo alle nostre domande, certo nella fede e acuto nell’indicare come la stessa potrà ancora diffondersi anche in questi nostri tempi difficili;
• quello con il Padre Custode ed il suo Vicario. Padre Patton mi ha colpito, per la sua cordialità e per come ha descritto il nostro lavoro, che ha equiparato a quello delle “volanti” della Polizia (che intervengono dove c’è bisogno), sottolineando l’importanza della duttilità nel tentativo di rispondere (ovviamente per come si può) alle domande che le varie realtà lì presenti pongono;
• Benoit e Ophelie, i due giovani francesi che ci hanno fatto una vera e propria lezione sulla provvidenza (a luglio 2018 sono partiti senza soldi dalla Francia desiderando solo di arrivare in Terrasanta);
• Habib e la sua famiglia che, pur nella difficoltà della comunicazione, ci hanno testimoniato il loro essere “pietre vive”.
Di aiuto sono stati per me i momenti nei quali durante il giorno ci siamo richiamati la ragione per la quale eravamo lì: di norma dopo colazione grazie a Zizzo (recita dell’Angelus e lettura di un breve brano dell’ultimo libro di Giussani) ed anche grazie ad Anna (che al Tabor, dopo essere riusciti ad estrarre dal portellone la chiave di accensione – cosa tutt’altro che scontata – ci ha invitato a ringraziare S. Rita recitando un gloria).
Prima di partire avevo alcuni timori, legati soprattutto al lavoro, dal quale sarei mancato per due settimane consecutive. Anche da questo punto di vista il turno di lavoro mi è stato utile, perché mi ha fatto capire che il lavoro è importante ma non è tutto, che non sono indispensabile ed anche che è bello lavorare gratuitamente.
Tanto altro ci sarebbe da dire (forse anche qualche proposta), confido di farlo in una prossima occasione: spero infatti di poter tornare a contemplare il cielo che Gesù ha guardato – come mi ha scritto suor Maria Chiara-Pasqualina prima di partire.

Ad esser sincero, non ho avuto un contraccolpo dall’esperienza che Paolo Arlotti mi ha proposto, ma una necessaria conferma.
E la conferma è questa: vale la pena spendersi per l’Eterno che nella vita ci è venuto incontro. Spendersi qui dove sono nato, spendersi in Terra Santa dove Gesù ha camminato.
Non vi conoscevo, ma non avevo problemi, se non quello di un’obbedienza all’esperienza propostami; ho trovato in voi uomini appassionati a Cristo, non solo corrispondenti al mio desiderio, ma molto di più: pensavo, prima di partire, alle “pietre morte” da custodire, in voi ho trovato soprattutto dei custodi delle “pietre vive” e questo, ora, lo racconto a tutti.
Grazie di cuore, un abbraccio e, a Dio piacendo, tornerò in Terra Santa.

Il mio cuore è pieno di gratitudine per la sovrabbondanza di grazia e di stupore che ho fatto nei 15 giorni in Terra Santa. Ho finalmente sperimentato, qual è la strada che fa si che il quotidiano non tagli più le gambe e la strada è andare dietro a Quella Presenza, lasciarsi fare e abbracciare tutto il Mistero Presente. E’ proprio un’Altra Misura che rende il tuo io un Tu e ti fa amare l’umano per il dono che è. Così la compagnia, per me che sono un lupo solitario è stata una grande scuola di vita e di sequela nell’essere afferrato da Cristo e vivere di Lui ogni istante della mia giornata. Ho riscoperto il vero significato del lavoro e della fatica, come cose buone e non contro di me. Infine la Messa di lunedì mattina al S. Sepolcro, Padre Diego al Getsemani e gli incontri con i nostri amici che ci hanno testimoniato l’amore per Cristo e perché Quell’Avvenimento continui a riaccadere e sia da tutti riconosciuto e incontrato per ciò che è veramente, mi ributtano nell’esperienza con lo struggimento di chi vuol vivere solo e unicamente per l’Essenziale e per ciò che piace a LUI.

Adesso trovo la giusta calma per riflettere sui 15 giorni passati in terrasanta; sono stati giorni certamente molto ricchi sotto il profilo emotivo, culturale e perchè no anche operativo ed alla fine si ritiene di aver fatto la cosa giusta nel posto giusto.
Dopo cinque anni di assenza è stato forte in me il desiderio di tornare perchè quei posti fanno parte della mia cultura di vita, degli insegnamenti ricevuti da bambino per cui camminare per la città vecchia di Gerusalemme mi fa sentire a casa e quindi quei posti mi appartengono.
All’inizio penso di aver avuto qualche problemino ad inserirmi nel gruppo e da ciò ne è derivata la mia silenziosa partecipazione alle varie comuni vicende, ma si sa che non tutto può sempre andare nella direzione da noi voluta.
Restano le tante emozioni provate nei tanti giorni trascorsi a Gerusalemme, in alta Galilea e certamente l’ascolto della Santa Messa all’interno della Edicola del Santo Sepolcro resta nei nostri cuori e nelle nostre menti un privilegio ed un ricordo certamante incancellabile.
