CAFARNAO – 2011

3/11/11 – 17/11/11: Cafarnao è stata una delle mete più gettonate di questo viaggio. Ci siamo stati tre volte. Il sito archeologico è stato ripulito dalle erbacce che lo infestano. E’ stato un lavoro umile, ma che ha contribuito a rendere questo luogo ancora più bello. Sono stati preparati i mosaici presenti all’esterno del Santuario i quali poi, nei giorni seguenti, sono stati portati a Gerusalemme per essere restaurati. Padre Jerome ci ha sempre accolti con molto calore, ci ha offerto la sua ospitalità invitandoci a pranzo, affermando: “siamo una famiglia e quando arriva qualcuno di famiglia io voglio poterlo accogliere come si deve”. Dice del grande rapporto che ci lega a questo luogo ed alle persone che lo abitano.

Il lavoro a Gerusalemme è stato principalmente lo svuotamento e la sistemazione di locali siti nella Custodia e dalle suore Clarisse. La polvere ci ha sempre accompagnato in abbondanza. Un lavoro particolarmente caro al Custode è stato la continuazione della sistemazione dei locali dei beni preziosi ed antichi già cominciato un anno prima a dicembre e che è continuato dopo i lavori di rifacimento del soffitto. Sono stati ripuliti e montati tutti gli armadi smontati precedentemente ai lavori del soffitto, tolti i calcinacci e la tanta polvere presente sul pavimento, preparando il lavoro al turno successivo per la definitiva sistemazione.

Oltre a portare a compimento i lavori iniziati dal gruppo precedente nei locali dei beni preziosi e antichi, è continuato il lavoro fotografico al museo della Flagellazione da parte di Giuliano coadiuvato da Giorgio. Questo lavoro di catalogazione dei beni già precedentemente svolto dai nostri fotografi Angelo, Giuliano e Silvano per i reperti di Nazareth, Tabor, Magdala sta continuando sotto la direzione di padre Alliata

Dalle Clarisse di Gerusalemme

Dalle Clarisse l’accoglienza è stata, come sempre, commovente. Madre Cristiana, sr Maria Chiara & C. sono un dono prezioso che ci è dato di incontrare e, ogni volta, sono una sorpresa ed una conferma. Abbiamo vuotato una stanza sotto l’ingresso del convento portando fuori tantissimi scatoloni; li abbiamo caricati sul pulmino e consegnati al proprietario, che ci ha definiti “I suoi angeli”. Sono stati sistemati alcuni locali del magazzino ordinando bene mobili ed attrezzi vari. comprese due stanze grandi (pulizia e verniciatura delle pietre che le ricoprono in parte) che verranno utilizzate dalle suore per i loro lavori.

Sefforis

In alcune visite a Nazareth e dintorni, abbiamo avuto modo di conoscere la Casa di accoglienza e orfanotrofio Sant’Anna di Sefforis denominata “Saint Anne Institute, educational support for homeless children”. Sefforis (Zippori) è un piccolo paese agricolo e pastorizio a pochi chilometri da Nazareth in cui, secondo la tradizione, nacquero e vissero per un certo periodo i genitori della Madonna, Gioacchino e Anna. Nelle vicinanze del Saint Anne Institute si trova infatti una Chiesa diroccata e attualmente abbandonata di epoca bizantina dedicata a Gioacchino e Anna.
La Casa di accoglienza raccoglie bambini orfani di uno o entrambi i genitori che si trovano in situazioni di grave indigenza. Anche bambine o ragazze con situazioni familiari molto difficili sono spesso mandati all’Istituto da parte di Enti pubblici che contribuiscono al loro mantenimento con limitati sussidi. Pertanto l’opera, per la sua sopravvivenza, può contare solo sul sostegno caritatevole di singoli o istituzioni private.
Il nostro progetto, che ha beneficiato di un contributo del Comune di Rimini, è stato indirizzato al miglioramento delle condizioni dell’area giochi dei bambini.
Tale area presentava diverse fonti di pericolo per i bambini che ne usufruiscono.
A novembre e dicembre si sono svolti i nostri interventi a conclusione dei quali pensiamo di avere, il più possibile, messo in sicurezza quest’area rendendola più fruibile da parte dei bambini e ragazzi ospitati, come ci conferma il messaggio augurale della Madre:
“A tutti voi il ricordo riconoscente e gli auguri più cari per una felice Pasqua.
Ora il campo è ancora più bello con le altalene nuove.”
